In a significant move to bolster India's digital defence capabilities, Patna's Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) has announced an intensive training programme. The university's Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Centre (CSDFC) will conduct a three-day certificate course focused on cyber security and digital forensics.
Course Details and Structure
The specialised programme is scheduled to run from January 9 to January 11. It will be delivered in a blended mode, offering flexibility for participants to join either online or attend in person at the university campus. This format is designed to maximise accessibility for a wider audience across the country.
Registrar S P Singh emphasised the critical need for such an initiative. He stated that the course is a direct response to the escalating threat landscape, marked by a surge in cybercrimes and frequent data breaches. Furthermore, the growing reliance on electronic evidence in courtrooms has created an urgent demand for professionals who understand both the technical and legal dimensions of digital forensics.
Who Can Apply and What to Expect
The course is open to a broad spectrum of learners. Students from all academic disciplines, whether at the graduation or postgraduation level, are eligible to apply. The university aims to keep the sessions interactive and impactful by limiting each batch to a maximum of 45 participants. Admissions will be granted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is advised.
According to Singh, the curriculum is meticulously crafted to provide practical and legal insights. Participants will gain the necessary skills to address contemporary cyber challenges effectively. The goal is to equip the next generation of professionals with the tools needed to secure digital infrastructure and support the judicial process with reliable digital evidence.
Addressing a National Need
This initiative by CNLU underscores a vital national priority. As India accelerates its digital transformation, the vulnerabilities in cyberspace become more pronounced. Training a skilled workforce in cyber security and digital forensics is no longer optional but a fundamental requirement for national security and economic stability.
The programme at CNLU represents a proactive step by an educational institution to bridge the glaring skill gap in this high-stakes field. By empowering students with cutting-edge knowledge, the course aims to create a pool of talent ready to combat cyber threats and uphold digital justice.
