Railway Helper Dies by Suicide in Kota Quarter

A 35-year-old railway workshop helper allegedly died by suicide in his railway quarter under Railway Colony police station limits, police said on Tuesday.

Incident Details

The deceased, identified as Jagdish Meena, was found hanging from the ceiling of his residence. His wife, who had been staying at her parental home for over two weeks, returned on Monday evening and discovered him. Hearing her cries, neighbours rushed in, brought him down, and took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police Investigation

Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramswaroop stated that no suicide note was recovered, and the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be established. Initial inquiry suggested the deceased was a habitual drinker, he added. Police conducted a post-mortem on Tuesday morning and handed over the body to family members. Further investigation is underway.
