Aju Varghese Reveals Why He Backed Out of Vineeth Sreenivasan's 'Oru Jaathi Jaathakam'
Aju Varghese Exits 'Oru Jaathi Jaathakam' After Script Read

In a candid revelation, popular Malayalam actor Aju Varghese has shared details about why he stepped away from a significant role in director M Mohanan's comedy film 'Oru Jaathi Jaathakam'. The film is backed by actor-filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan. Aju made these comments during a promotional interview for his upcoming movie 'Sarvam Maya' with host Pearle Maaney.

Blind Trust in the Director Led to Initial Yes

Aju Varghese explained that his initial agreement to join the project was based purely on trust. Director M Mohanan, who previously directed the well-received film 'Aravindante Athidhikal', approached him on the sets of another project. Vineeth Sreenivasan had already discussed the film with Aju, leading him to block the required dates. When Mohanan offered to leave the script at his hotel, Aju insisted it wasn't necessary, confident in the team's capabilities. He had agreed to do the film without even glancing at the script.

The Script Reading That Changed His Mind

The actor's perspective shifted dramatically when he finally decided to read the script during some free time. After going through the entire narrative, he concluded that the specific character offered to him was not a suitable fit. "That character did not work for me. If it had, I would have definitely gone and done it," Aju stated clearly. He promptly informed the production team of his decision to exit the project, emphasizing that his choice was based solely on the role's compatibility and nothing else.
