Akshay Oberoi Calls 'Toxic' Action Sequences Most Demanding of His Career
Akshay Oberoi: 'Toxic' Action Most Demanding of Career

Actor Akshay Oberoi will appear next in the upcoming gangster action thriller 'Toxic', starring Yash. The 'Fighter' actor recently opened up about his experience working on the Geetu Mohandas directorial. He described the process as one of the most demanding and exhilarating experiences of his entire career.

Action on a Different Scale

In a conversation with IANS, Oberoi discussed the film's choreography and action sequences. He emphasized that the action in 'Toxic' operates on a completely different level compared to his previous work. "The action in Toxic is on a different scale altogether," Oberoi stated. "I've done action in my earlier films, but what this film expected from me was nothing like I've ever done before."

Weeks of Intense Training

The preparation for these sequences proved incredibly challenging. Oberoi shared that he trained for weeks to meet the rigorous demands. The regimen focused on building endurance, perfecting timing, and achieving absolute synchronization between mind and body.

"The choreography, the detailing, the physical drills, everything was designed to build not just muscle but endurance, timing, and absolute mind-body sync," he explained. "The director and action team had a very specific vision, and the world of Toxic has its own grammar of movement, its own rules. I trained for weeks to make sure I could deliver that."

About the Film and Star-Studded Cast

'Toxic' is co-written by Yash and director Geetu Mohandas, who is also helming the project. Yash portrays the character Raya, depicted as an unapologetic and violent man. The film boasts a strong female ensemble cast, featuring Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth in significant roles.

Producers are targeting a global audience with 'Toxic'. The film is being shot simultaneously in English and Kannada. It will also receive dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Renowned composer Ravi Basrur, famous for his powerful scores in films like 'KGF' and 'Salaar', is creating the music.

The release date is set for March 19, 2026. Interestingly, 'Toxic' will clash at the box office with Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2', setting the stage for a major cinematic showdown.
