Actor Anuj Sachdeva Attacked in Mumbai, Alleges Police Manipulation
Anuj Sachdeva shares shocking attack experience in Mumbai

Bollywood actor Anuj Sachdeva has revealed a terrifying and violent encounter he faced recently in Mumbai, an incident that has left him questioning public safety and the efficacy of law enforcement. The actor shared the harrowing details in a candid conversation on a podcast hosted by Chhavi Hussein, describing an unprovoked attack and subsequent alarming events at the police station.

A Night Walk Turns Violent

The incident occurred on 14th December late at night. Anuj Sachdeva was out for a walk in his society with a friend and his dog. He noticed a car parked in a manner he found inappropriate and thought of taking a picture to share in a community group. At that moment, a man approached him and suddenly became aggressive.

"The guy started to charge at me," Anuj recounted. The situation escalated quickly when the assailant began shouting. The actor's dog, sensing danger, moved forward instinctively to protect its owner. This provoked the attacker further, who then started hitting the animal. Anuj explained his immediate dilemma, stating that when one is with a pet or a female companion, the primary instinct shifts from self-defense to protecting them.

In the background of a video he later shared, his friend can be heard urgently calling for the society's watchman. Reflecting on this, podcast host Chhavi Hussein pointed out that watchmen in residential complexes should be empowered with some authority to handle such emergencies.

Allegations of Police Station Threats and FIR Manipulation

Deeply shaken, Anuj Sachdeva decided to take legal action and filed a complaint at the local police station. However, his experience with the authorities compounded his distress. He alleged that a policeman from another station intervened and attempted to manipulate the contents of his First Information Report (FIR).

To his shock, the situation grew more intimidating at the police station itself. The man who had attacked him allegedly issued direct threats. "The guy who attacked me started to threaten me at the police station, saying that 2026 will be my last year," Anuj disclosed. He expressed profound disappointment, stating he had held high expectations from the Mumbai police, which were not met during this ordeal.

Raising Critical Questions on Safety and Justice

While sharing a video of the incident on social media, Anuj Sachdeva posed several pressing questions to his followers and the public. He questioned the very notion of safety if a minor issue like a wrongly parked car within one's own society can escalate to a life-threatening situation.

His post read: "Should you live in fear of another person, always being mindful that they could be rowdy or aggressive, or do you have the right to speak your mind?" To add depth to the conversation, he tagged Sudhir Kudalkar, a senior police inspector and founder of the PAL Foundation, inviting a professional perspective on citizen rights and safety protocols.

The actor also emphasized the legal gravity of the assault. He argued that the intent behind the attack matters significantly in court. "If the guy tried to hit you at your head, then he’s trying to kill you. It is attempt to murder," Anuj stated firmly, highlighting his view of the serious criminal nature of the act.

This incident has sparked a broader discussion about urban safety, the right to self-defense, and the challenges citizens can face even when seeking help from law enforcement agencies.
