Bollywood's Elite Unite to Support Rajpal Yadav in Financial Crisis

In a remarkable show of solidarity, Bollywood's biggest stars have stepped forward to support veteran actor Rajpal Yadav as he faces severe financial difficulties. The actor, who recently surrendered at Tihar Jail due to an unresolved debt of nearly Rs 9 crore, is now receiving substantial backing from industry heavyweights including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Varun Dhawan.

Manager Goldie Reveals A-List Support Network

In an exclusive conversation with SCREEN, Rajpal Yadav's manager Goldie disclosed that numerous prominent figures from the film industry have reached out with offers of monetary assistance. "A lot of people have reached out to help Rajpal Yadav," Goldie stated. "Actors like Sonu Sood, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn have extended their support. I was just on a call with David Dhawan—he too reached out. Ratan Nain, Varun Dhawan… many people are coming forward to help him this time, which Rajpal has deeply appreciated."

When questioned about whether Rajpal had sought help before surrendering at Tihar, Goldie declined to comment directly. However, he emphasized the industry's collective response: "The good thing is that after his situation worsened, the industry has stood behind him like a rock—and that should be appreciated. Everyone has made commitments, but such transactions don't happen overnight."

Imminent Bail Hearing and Release Prospects

Goldie expressed strong optimism about Rajpal Yadav's potential release, revealing that a crucial bail hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. "We have his bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow, and we are hopeful that he will be granted bail and released," he confirmed. "The bail application has already been filed. We will be able to share more details after the hearing tomorrow."

The manager also highlighted the emotional resilience of Rajpal and his family during this challenging period. "Mentally, the family has to remain strong. Rajpal Bhai himself is very strong, and that strength runs in the family," Goldie noted. "There are also several celebrations lined up at home, with family functions scheduled later in February. Everyone wants Rajpal Bhai to be out by then. Hopefully, he should be out by tomorrow."

Expanding Circle of Support and Financial Commitments

The support for Rajpal Yadav extends beyond the A-list actors, creating what industry observers are calling a 'Bollywood Rescue' initiative. The comprehensive support network includes:

  • Salman Khan & Ajay Devgn: Both superstars have reportedly extended support to help clear the outstanding dues.
  • The Dhawan Family: Veteran director David Dhawan and actor Varun Dhawan have reached out to commit assistance.
  • Political & Musical Aid: Politician Tej Pratap Yadav (₹11 lakh), singer Guru Randhawa, and actor KRK (₹10 lakh) have also joined the cause.
  • Major Individual Contribution: Music director Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav has pledged a significant ₹1.11 crore.

Earlier industry supporters included Sonu Sood, Guru Randhawa, Gurmeet Choudhary, and KRK, with most not disclosing specific amounts. Rao Inderjeet took the additional step of sharing Rajpal Yadav's bank details publicly to encourage broader assistance.

Background of the Financial Crisis

Rajpal Yadav's current predicament stems from a loan originally taken in 2010 to finance his directorial debut, Ata Pata Lapata. The initial Rs 5 crore loan ballooned to nearly Rs 9 crore after the film's commercial failure led to multiple cheque defaults. The matter eventually reached court, resulting in his conviction and jailing in 2018 under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Despite subsequent legal proceedings, the actor was unable to repay the remaining amount, which ultimately led to his recent surrender. Before turning himself in, Rajpal Yadav made a poignant statement to the media: "What can I do? I have no money to pay. I am all alone."

The Bollywood community's collective response now represents a significant turning point in this prolonged financial struggle, offering hope for resolution and the actor's imminent release from legal constraints.
