According to reports, Akshaye Khanna returns as Second Lieutenant Dharamvir Singh Bhakhri, Suniel Shetty as Assistant Commandant Bhairon Singh Rathore, and Sudesh Berry as Naib Subedar Mathura Das. All three characters met a heroic end, becoming martyrs in the original film's narrative.
The emotional connection happens in a pivotal scene where the old and new generations cross paths. In 'Border 2,' the characters from the 1997 film will meet the new generation of soldiers at an event that takes place before the 1971 war commences.
