Sophie Turner Loves RRR, Wants to Dance in a Bollywood Film
Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner Dreams of Bollywood

Sophie Turner, the global star celebrated for her iconic role as Sansa Stark in the fantasy epic 'Game of Thrones', has expressed a deep admiration for Indian cinema. In a recent candid interview, the actress, known for her work in 'Dark Phoenix' and 'Trust', shared her excitement about Bollywood and her love for a certain Indian blockbuster.

From Westeros to Bollywood: Turner's Cinematic Dream

Speaking to Firstpost, Sophie Turner revealed her newfound passion for Indian films. She specifically mentioned being thoroughly entertained by director S.S. Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR'. Her admiration, however, goes beyond just watching. Turner openly shared her aspiration to one day be part of the Indian film industry.

"I really loved RRR. I want to act in a Bollywood film. I want to dance in a Bollywood movie," she stated enthusiastically. Elaborating on what draws her to Bollywood, she added, "Bollywood films have grand visuals. The kind of production design seen in Bollywood films is not something you see on a Western film set. I want to be part of a film someday."

Shah Rukh Khan is the 'GOAT', Loves Deepika Padukone

When asked about her favourite Indian stars, Turner found it hard to pick just one. After a moment of delightful hesitation, she declared, "My gosh that’s tough! I mean Shah Rukh Khan is the GOAT right?" Using the popular acronym for 'Greatest Of All Time', she showed her respect for the Bollywood superstar. She also expressed high praise for actress Deepika Padukone, saying, "But I love Deepika Padukone, I think she’s amazing."

RRR Continues to Win Global Acclaim

Sophie Turner is not the first Hollywood personality to be captivated by the spectacle of 'RRR'. The film has garnered a passionate international following. Earlier, famed Hollywood filmmaker J.J. Abrams, the creator of the 'Star Wars' sequels, praised the film during a special screening.

Abrams called 'RRR' a "wild and fun experience," stating, "I love its exuberance and friendship... I love the music and I love the insanity and the fever dream madness of this movie. It's more fun to watch this movie in a theatre than any other film." He also felt privileged to introduce director S.S. Rajamouli.

Other Western celebrities have also shared their love for the Telugu-language epic:

  • Nathalie Emmanuel ('Game of Thrones') tweeted, "RRR is a sick movie and no one can tell me otherwise," later clarifying "Sick as in great btw."
  • British director Edgar Wright praised the theatrical experience, noting, "The only film I have ever seen where the intermission card itself got a round of applause."

Following the monumental success of 'RRR', fans worldwide are now eagerly awaiting Rajamouli's next project, tentatively titled 'Varanasi'. The film is set to star Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in lead roles.
