A domestic dispute within the family of Kannada actor Dhanush Raj has escalated into a serious legal confrontation, with both the actor and his wife filing police complaints against each other in Bengaluru. She alleged that she has been a victim of dowry harassment and both physical and mental torture by Dhanush Raj. According to her FIR, the couple got married on March 2, 2025, in Bengaluru.
Ashrita claimed that after a few weeks of a cordial relationship, the actor began harassing her for dowry and subjected her to ill-treatment. She stated that even after intervention by a panchayat (community elders' council) and a subsequent conciliation, the harassment continued. Her complaint directly contradicts the actor's claims, painting him as the aggressor in their marital discord.
