Karan Joshi on Amitabh Bachchan Fandom and Theater Path

Gujarati film actor Karan Joshi recently expressed his deep admiration for legendary Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan. In a candid interview with ABP Live, Joshi shared heartfelt stories about his fandom and his unexpected journey into acting.

A Lifelong Fan of Amitabh Bachchan

Karan Joshi, known for his role in the hit Gujarati movie 'Laalo-Krishna Sada Sahaayate,' revealed that he remains a devoted fan of Amitabh Bachchan. He stated clearly that he loves all of Bachchan's films without exception.

The actor recounted a personal moment that highlights his admiration. He once recreated a famous scene from Bachchan's classic film 'Agneepath' in front of his own mother. Joshi mentioned that he still watches that recreation today, cherishing the memory.

"I'm still a big fan of Mr. Bachchan," Joshi emphasized during the interview. "He does a great job, and I hope to meet him one day." His words carried genuine respect for the veteran actor's decades-long career.

The Uncertain Beginning of an Acting Dream

Joshi's path to acting wasn't straightforward. He always wanted to become an actor but faced significant confusion about how to begin. In his own words, he didn't know where to start or whom to approach.

"I wanted to become an actor. But what to do? How to become one? Where should I start? I don't know anyone," Joshi explained, describing his early struggles. The schools he attended offered no theater subjects, leaving him without guidance during his formative years.

Theater Arrives as a Turning Point

Everything changed for Karan Joshi in 2016 when theater entered his life unexpectedly. He described this discovery as transformative, completely altering his perspective and direction.

Joshi spoke passionately about the stage, calling it "like a mirror." He elaborated on this unique relationship, saying "When I come on stage, I become real. What you believe is not you. This is you. What happens on stage." This realization created what he calls a deep respect for theatrical performance.

Through live performances, Joshi learned authentic self-expression. Theater provided him with a genuine connection to the craft of acting that he had been missing.

Educational Choices Driven by Theater

After discovering theater, Joshi researched formal training opportunities. He learned about prestigious institutions like the National School of Drama (NSD) and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

Understanding that these programs required a bachelor's degree, Joshi made a strategic educational decision. He enrolled in and completed a BA in Hindi literature specifically to qualify for acting programs.

"It was because of theater," Joshi stated about his academic choice. His previous path had been quite different - after completing 10th and 12th standards, he had pursued a diploma in hardware engineering. Following that, he worked in a call center before theater redirected his life completely.

Current Cinematic Success

Meanwhile, Joshi's film 'Laalo-Krishna Sada Sahaayate' continues to attract attention. The Hindi version of the movie has particularly captured interest among cinema enthusiasts.

The film recently competed with other releases including 'Dhurandhar' and 'The Raja Saab.' Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, the project features a cast including Reeva Rachh, Karan Joshi himself, and Shruhad Goswami in significant roles.

Joshi's journey from uncertainty to theatrical discovery to cinematic recognition demonstrates how passion combined with opportunity can reshape a career. His story highlights both his admiration for industry legends and his personal evolution as a performer.
