Krithi Shetty Embraces Old-School Romance, Chooses Single Life
In a candid revelation, actress Krithi Shetty has opened up about her personal views on love, stating she has decided to remain single because she believes in "a very old-school type of love." The actress, who is gearing up for her upcoming futuristic film 'Love Insurance Kompany', shared these thoughts in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, emphasizing her preference for deep, meaningful connections over fleeting modern relationships.
Slow and Deep Love Over Fast-Paced Romance
Krithi Shetty expressed that she finds today's dating culture too rapid and superficial. "Personally, being very frank, I decided to stay single because I believe in a very old-school type of love," she said. She elaborated that she admires slow and profound emotional bonds, which she feels are rare in contemporary times. This philosophy has influenced her career choices, including her debut in the 2021 film 'Uppena', which she selected for its exploration of a similar, pure love dynamic between the lead characters.
Inspired by Classic Cinema and Amitabh Bachchan
The actress attributed her romantic ideals to her upbringing, where she was immersed in the cinema of the 1980s and 1990s. "I grew up watching a lot of 80s and 90s movies because my dad is a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan sir; the kind of love and songs we had back then were so pure and stereotypically old-school, and that’s what I still adore," Krithi explained. She admitted that connecting with the current generation's approach to love is challenging, as people tend to move on quickly. Looking ahead, she hopes to find a partner who shares her values, saying, "Maybe in five or ten years, I see myself ending up with someone who has a similar ideology... who still believes in a very sweet, old-fashioned type of love."
Bollywood Debut and Upcoming Film Details
During the same conversation, Krithi Shetty hinted at her impending entry into Bollywood. "Yes, that is something you can look forward to. I’m a Bombay girl and I predominantly speak Hindi, so I’m really excited about working in Bollywood soon," she revealed, sparking anticipation among fans. Her upcoming project, 'Love Insurance Kompany' (also known as 'LIK'), is a futuristic tale directed by Vignesh Shivan and co-starring Pradeep Ranganathan. Initially announced for release in September last year, the film faced multiple delays due to extended post-production and scheduling conflicts. It is now scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, offering audiences a unique perspective on love in a futuristic setting.
Krithi Shetty's reflections highlight a growing nostalgia for traditional romance in an era dominated by fast-paced digital interactions. As she balances her personal beliefs with her professional journey, fans eagerly await both her Bollywood debut and the release of 'Love Insurance Kompany', which promises to delve into themes of love and connection in a modern world.
