Luka Chuppi 2 Delayed by 6-8 Months: Director, Stars' Schedules Blamed
Luka Chuppi 2 Sequel Pushed Back, New Timeline Revealed

The highly anticipated Bollywood sequel, 'Luka Chuppi 2', has officially been put on hold, dealing a disappointment to fans eagerly waiting for the follow-up to the 2019 romantic comedy. The project, which was initially slated to begin its pre-production phase in early 2026, has now been postponed by approximately six to eight months.

Director's Packed Calendar Causes Hold-Up

The primary reason for this significant delay is director Laxman Utekar's extremely tight schedule. Utekar is currently fully immersed in directing 'Eetha', a biopic featuring Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, based on the life of Tamasha artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. This project demands his complete and careful attention, leading to the decision to pause 'Luka Chuppi 2'. The move is intended to ensure the sequel does not feel rushed or incomplete. Reports indicate Utekar plans to shift his entire focus to 'Luka Chuppi 2' only after wrapping up 'Eetha', which is expected to conclude by mid-2026.

Star-Studded Cast Occupied with Other Major Projects

Aligning the dates of the lead actors has emerged as another major hurdle. Varun Dhawan is deeply committed to several big-ticket films. He is currently gearing up for the ambitious war drama 'Border 2', which involves demanding outdoor shoots at real locations and requires intense physical preparation. His regimen includes strict discipline with clean food, high-protein meals, and proper rest to maintain fitness for the role. Following this, he is also expected to begin work on 'Bhediya 2'.

His co-star, Sharvari, is also busy with her current filming commitments. She is working on 'Yeh Prem Mol Liya', a project under the direction of Sooraj Barjatya. With both actors' calendars packed, finding a common window for 'Luka Chuppi 2' has become a logistical challenge.

What's Next for the Sequel?

For now, 'Luka Chuppi 2' remains firmly in the planning stages. A final decision regarding the film's story and revised production timeline is anticipated to be made by late 2026. This delay, while disappointing for fans, suggests the filmmakers are prioritizing quality and dedicating the necessary time to each project, rather than rushing the much-loved franchise's next installment.
