Celebrating Makar Sankranti in Jaipur stirred cherished memories for actor-couple Malini Kapoor and Ajay Sharma. The pair visited the Pink City to mark the festival, immersing themselves in its vibrant traditions.
Malini Kapoor's Connection to Jaipur
Malini Kapoor, known for roles in Adaalat and Naagin 6, expressed a deep bond with Jaipur. She enjoyed flying kites and savoring traditional delicacies during the festivities.
"I feel deeply connected to the Pink City, which has now become my home too," Malini said. "On Makar Sankranti, the vibe is unbelievable. Jaipur's architecture makes it magical."
She highlighted how the city's dense layout, terraces, and havelis foster endless rooftop kite battles. "Literally every family is on their rooftops, flying kites and celebrating together," she added.
The evening sky, adorned with lanterns and fireworks, reminded her of Diwali. "A sky filled with thousands of colorful kites at once is a rare sight, especially for people coming from metro cities," Malini noted.
While Mumbai remains her karmabhoomi as an actor, Jaipur now feels like home. She thanked her husband Ajay Sharma for introducing her to the city.
Ajay Sharma's Childhood Memories
Ajay Sharma, who hails from Jaipur, shared his fondness for kite flying. "I love flying kites, and it used to be my favourite thing in childhood," he said.
He recalled spending late evenings on terraces with friends. "But the highlight for me used to be eating loads of til ke laddoo and gajak," Ajay added.
He described Makar Sankranti as the best time to enjoy the warm sun with family on the terrace.
