Mumbai High-Rise Fire: Filmmaker Sandeep Singh Safe, Hospital Photo Mystery Solved
Mumbai Fire: Sandeep Singh Safe, Friend Clarifies Hospital Pics

A fire at a residential high-rise in Mumbai on December 25 caused significant alarm, especially as it was revealed that filmmaker Sandeep Singh, known for producing films like 'Mary Kom', was present in the building. Initial reports confirmed his safety, stating he was on a different floor when the blaze erupted. However, confusion soon spread across social media when photos and a video of Sandeep in a hospital setting surfaced online, leading many to believe he had been injured in the incident.

Vicky Jain Clears the Air on Hospital Photos

Putting all speculation to rest, Sandeep Singh's close friend, Vicky Jain, provided a detailed explanation in an interview with Hindustan Times. He clarified that the hospital images had nothing to do with the fire. Jain revealed that two unrelated events overlapped, creating a major misunderstanding.

"There were two things that happened simultaneously," Vicky explained. "Sandeep had his hernia surgery on December 22, and he got discharged the day before [the fire] and went to his house." He further stated that Sandeep lives on the 14th floor of the building, while the fire broke out on the 12th floor due to a short circuit. The unfortunate timing of his recent surgery and the fire incident led to unnecessary panic online.

A Stroke of Luck and a Swift Rescue

Vicky Jain also described what he called a divine intervention that played a crucial role in keeping Sandeep safe. Due to his post-surgery condition, where he couldn't walk properly or bend down, Sandeep was temporarily shifted to another flat in the same building on the ninth floor, where someone from their production team lives.

"If he would have been on the 14th floor, it would have been a completely different and dangerous situation," Vicky emphasized. Recalling the tense moment when the fire started, he added, "When the incident happened, Sandeep immediately called me and Ankita and I rushed to him." The couple then took the filmmaker to their own house for safety and proper care.

Current Status and Mental Fortitude

Providing a current update, Vicky Jain assured that Sandeep Singh is recovering well and is in good spirits. He confirmed that repair work is underway in the fire-affected building and that Sandeep is staying with them for the time being.

Speaking about the filmmaker's resilience, Vicky praised his mental strength. "You have to not let it all get to your head and disturb you. It was a very serious thing but Sandeep is mentally very strong. He is keeping himself positive," Jain stated. The incident, while frightening, has been managed without physical harm to the filmmaker, thanks to a combination of quick thinking and fortunate circumstances.
