Nupur Sanon, the younger sister of actress Kriti Sanon, recently tied the knot with singer Stebin Ben in a beautiful ceremony in Udaipur. The wedding took place over the weekend and featured both Hindu and Christian rituals. The couple hosted a three-day intimate celebration in Udaipur, followed by a star-studded reception in Mumbai on Tuesday.
A Blend of Two Cultures
In a recent interview with ETimes, Nupur and Stebin discussed their relationship and wedding details. Nupur explained that their wedding beautifully reflected both their backgrounds. "We blend our cultures beautifully," she said, referring to the Christian ceremony. She admitted she had never attended a Christian wedding before her own.
Stebin shared his thoughts on the Christian vows. He focused on themes of eternal commitment and togetherness. "I talked about choosing each other forever, celebrating love, and staying committed," he revealed.
Traditional Hindu Ceremonies and Celebrations
Alongside the Christian ceremony, the couple also performed traditional Hindu rituals. They enjoyed pre-wedding functions like Haldi, Mehendi, Sangeet, and a cocktail party. Nupur mentioned that Kriti ensured proper performances from the bride's side. She performed with her sister and actor Varun Sharma.
Stebin highlighted some musical highlights. His personal favorites included live performances by Sonu Nigam and Sukhbir. The couple wanted every ritual to feel special and enjoyable.
Choosing Udaipur for Privacy and Meaning
Stebin and Nupur intentionally chose Udaipur for their wedding. Interestingly, the venue held personal significance for Stebin. He had performed there years ago and wished to get married there someday.
The guest list included only close family and friends who had witnessed their five-year love story. "We wanted to honor every ritual properly and truly enjoy our wedding," Stebin emphasized.
Nupur added that staying in Udaipur from January 9th to 11th provided the privacy they needed. She wanted to feel joy without feeling overwhelmed on her big day.
Kriti Sanon's Role in Convincing Their Mother
Nupur and Stebin met professionally while working on music videos. They dated for five years before deciding to marry. Nupur revealed that telling her family about the relationship was not easy. Kriti Sanon was the first person to know about Stebin.
When Nupur told her mother about Stebin, her mother had some concerns. "She was a little unsure, like most mothers, cautious about seriousness and the future," Nupur recalled.
However, Kriti's support made a big difference. She vouched for Stebin, helping everyone come around. Nupur noted that Stebin's charming personality also helped. "He leaves a great impression when he meets people," she said.
Proposal and Reception
Stebin proposed to Nupur on January 3rd, and they soon married. Their Mumbai reception attracted many Bollywood celebrities. Attendees included Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Veer Pahariya, Disha Patani, Hina Khan, and Neha Dhupia.
