Rajpal Yadav Denies Career Struggles After Bail Release

Rajpal Yadav Granted Bail in Longstanding Debt Case, Addresses Career Perceptions

Veteran Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has been released on bail after surrendering at Tihar Jail earlier this February in connection with a Rs 9 crore debt case that originated in 2012. Prior to his surrender, the actor publicly stated that he lacked the financial means to repay the substantial amount, sparking widespread discussions about the economic challenges faced by character actors within the film industry.

Industry Support and Professional Rebuttal

The situation prompted numerous industry members to rally in support of Yadav, with many initiating efforts to secure him new work and sign him for upcoming projects. However, following his release on bail, Rajpal Yadav firmly dismissed the prevailing perception that he had been experiencing professional difficulties.

During a candid conversation with filmmaker Farah Khan on her YouTube vlog, Yadav reiterated his stance, emphasizing that he has maintained consistent employment throughout his nearly three-decade-long career in cinema.

Revealing an Extensive Filmography

Reacting to his prolific body of work, Farah Khan remarked, “I think you must have done at least 100 films with just Priyadarshan sir.” Rajpal Yadav, celebrated for his roles in films such as Bhagam Bhag, Malamaal Weekly, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, responded with laughter, disclosing, “I have actually done at least 50 films each with Ram Gopal Varma, Priyadarshan and David Dhawan.”

Highlighting the remarkable momentum of his early career, he added, “In the very first year (2000), the industry bestowed me with so much love and fame that I have finished doing at least 200 films,” underlining that he has never faced a period of unemployment.

Lighthearted Banter and Industry Relationships

Farah Khan then humorously noted his indispensability, stating, “Even Salman [Khan] can’t do without you.” Rajpal Yadav agreed, replying, “Yes, Salman bhai and Akshay bhai both can’t do. I have also done at least four films with Shah Rukh Khan.”

The exchange continued playfully as Farah teased him about not appearing in her films: “Yes, but you haven’t worked in any of my films.” Yadav responded candidly, “Honestly, you never gave me an opportunity. Please tell me, who on earth was not wanting to be part of Main Hoon Na?”

When Farah inquired what role she could have possibly offered him in that film, Rajpal sidestepped the question and added, “Who wasn’t desperate to be in Om Shanti Om?” Farah laughed in agreement, saying, “Yes, true that. 100%.”

The conversation not only showcased Yadav's enduring presence in Bollywood but also highlighted the supportive dynamics within the industry, even as he navigates personal financial challenges.
