Reeva Rachh's Life Transformed After Gujarati Film 'Laalo' Crosses Rs 100 Crores
Reeva Rachh: How 'Laalo' Changed My Life After Rs 100 Cr Success

Actress Reeva Rachh has opened up about how her life underwent a complete transformation following the unexpected and monumental success of the Gujarati film 'Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate'. The film, which had a modest opening upon its release last Diwali, slowly gained momentum through word of mouth, ultimately achieving the remarkable feat of crossing the Rs. 100 crores mark at the box office.

From Anonymity to Widespread Recognition

In a candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Reeva Rachh shared the profound impact this success has had on her personal and professional life. She described a stark contrast between her life before and after the film's triumph. "Earlier, your friends, family and near ones knew you," she reflected. "Other people used to ask, 'Are you an actor? In which projects have you worked?' The general population wasn't aware."

That scenario has now flipped entirely. "A lot of people know me. They recognize me when they see me on the road," she said, highlighting her newfound fame. The most rewarding part, according to her, is that people now proactively approach her to say, "I have seen you in Laalo," without her having to introduce herself as an actress.

A Career-Defining Role as Tulsi

Reeva plays the pivotal role of Tulsi, the wife of auto-rickshaw driver Lalji, portrayed by Karan Joshi, whose life takes dramatic turns. For Reeva, this character was far more than just another job; it represented a watershed moment in her career. She emphasized that the film provided her with opportunities she had never received before. "I haven't got the chance of doing the kind of work I got to do in this film," she stated. "So, it's a very important film for me."

She expressed deep gratitude towards director Ankit Sakhiya for entrusting her with such a significant part. "I am happy that Ankit bhai trusted me for playing such a character," she said, acknowledging the faith placed in her abilities. This role, she implied, served as a true turning point, elevating her standing in the industry.

The Foundation: Script, Direction, and Chemistry

Reeva's connection to the project was immediate and powerful. Recalling her first encounter with the material in an earlier exclusive interview with ETimes, she said, "When I first read the script, I felt, 'Okay, we have something interesting here.'" The detailed references provided for her character Tulsi helped her visualize and embody the scenes fully. "It really got my acting nerves excited to hop on," she admitted.

Even before meeting the production team in person, she could sense their passion radiating from the pages of the script, which became her primary guide. "I relied heavily on the script," she noted. She also extended praise to creative director Vicky Joshi for his unwavering support throughout the filming process.

However, Reeva was quick to share the credit for her compelling performance with her co-star. "A lot of the credit goes to Karan, my co-actor, because he enabled me to give my best," she concluded, highlighting the essential on-screen chemistry that contributed to the film's authentic appeal and, ultimately, its staggering commercial success.
