Salim Khan Hospitalized in Mumbai Following Minor Brain Hemorrhage

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, the 90-year-old father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 17, sparking widespread concern among fans and industry colleagues. The legendary writer, known for his iconic contributions to Indian cinema, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing health complications.

Medical Details and Doctor's Statement

On February 18, Dr. Jalil Parkar addressed the media outside Lilavati Hospital to provide clarity on Salim Khan's condition. He confirmed that the writer had suffered a minor brain hemorrhage but was responding positively to medical intervention.

"There was a minimal brain hemorrhage. A procedure called DSA was performed this morning. No surgery was required. He is currently on a ventilator, but we hope to remove him from it by tomorrow. Given his age, recovery will take longer, but he is fine, stable, and doing quite well overall," Dr. Parkar stated.

Reason for Ventilator Support Explained

Dr. Parkar emphasized that the use of a ventilator was a precautionary measure rather than an indication of critical deterioration. "After initial diagnosis and medication, we determined he needed ICU care. We placed him on the ventilator to facilitate certain investigations and as a safeguard to prevent any worsening of his condition. Reports describing the situation as critical are inaccurate," he explained.

Family and Celebrity Visits

Following the news of his hospitalization, several prominent personalities visited Salim Khan at the hospital. Notable visitors included:

  • Javed Akhtar
  • Sangeeta Bijlani
  • Sanjay Dutt
  • Riteish Deshmukh
  • Rahul Roy

The entire Khan family has been closely involved, with Salman Khan, Helen, Salma Khan, Alvira Agnihotri, Arpita Khan, and Arbaaz Khan all visiting him regularly since his admission.
