Salman Khan Visits Ailing Father at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital
Bollywood megastar Salman Khan made a visit to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital on Friday morning to see his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, who has been hospitalized since February 17. Social media footage captured the actor's vehicle arriving at the medical facility accompanied by his security detail.
According to reports, Salman Khan has temporarily halted production on his upcoming film 'Battle of Galwan' and other professional commitments to dedicate time to his father during this challenging period. The family's priority has shifted entirely to Salim Khan's recovery and well-being.
Salim Khan's Medical Condition and Treatment
Salim Khan, the legendary writer behind numerous Bollywood classics, remains on ventilator support at Lilavati Hospital. Dr. Jalil Parkar, the physician overseeing his treatment, provided a health update earlier this week, revealing that Khan experienced a minor brain hemorrhage.
"He was having jerks and his blood pressure was high. We treated him immediately," Dr. Parkar explained. "We placed him on a ventilator as a precautionary measure to prevent his condition from deteriorating further. This was not because he was in critical condition, but rather a preventive step."
The medical team conducted necessary investigations and performed a standard procedure on the writer. Dr. Parkar emphasized that Salim Khan is currently stable and responding well to treatment, though he acknowledged that age is a factor in the recovery process, which may take additional time.
Family Requests Privacy Regarding Health Matters
Subsequent reports indicate that Salman Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the public disclosure of his father's medical details and has instructed hospital staff to maintain strict confidentiality moving forward. The Khan family has made a conscious decision to keep Salim Khan's health situation private and avoid media speculation.
A source close to the family told Variety India: "Health is fundamentally a private matter. Ideally, no medical updates should be shared with the media, and any communication should come exclusively from the family when they choose to address well-wishers and fans."
The insider further revealed that Salman and his family were particularly upset about the doctor's public comments and have formally requested the hospital administration to refrain from releasing any additional information about Salim Khan's condition to the press or public.
This development highlights the delicate balance between public interest in celebrity lives and a family's right to privacy during medical emergencies. The Khan family's stance reflects a growing trend among public figures who seek to protect their personal lives from constant media scrutiny, especially during sensitive health situations.
