Suniel Shetty Gets Emotional About Son Ahan's Career Journey
Suniel Shetty recently opened up about his son Ahan Shetty's personal and professional struggles following the commercial failure of his debut film. The veteran actor spoke candidly at the audio launch event for Border 2, where he became visibly emotional while discussing his son's challenging path in the film industry.
The Emotional Audio Launch Moment
During the Border 2 audio launch in Chennai, Suniel Shetty had tears in his eyes as he reflected on his son's journey. Producer Bhushan Kumar was seen comforting the emotional father as he spoke about Ahan's experiences. Suniel expressed deep gratitude that his son received such a significant opportunity for his second film project.
"Getting such a big film is huge," Suniel said about Border 2. "It is a responsible film. When Ahan was shooting for the film, I told him 'Ahan, it is not just uniform.' I told him whatever you do, do it from your heart."
The Difficult Period After Debut
Suniel revealed that Ahan faced substantial challenges after his 2021 debut in Milan Luthria's Tadap. The young actor took a brief break following the film's poor performance, during which he experienced significant personal turmoil.
"After his first film, there was a little break in his life and career," Suniel explained. "You know, there's always turmoil in our lives. Everyone thinks that he is Suniel Shetty's son and he would have got a lot of work. But somewhere or the other, there's a lot that Ahan went through in life."
The actor emphasized that despite being his son, Ahan faced genuine struggles and didn't receive special treatment in the competitive film industry.
Addressing Negative Campaigns
Suniel also addressed what he described as organized negativity against his son. He revealed that people had paid for negative articles about Ahan and orchestrated campaigns against him.
"They said that he has a 10-person entourage; people paid lots of money to get negative articles written about him," Suniel stated firmly. "Do you think I don't have connections? Do you think I can't do the same thing?"
The veteran actor threatened to expose those involved if the negative campaigns continued, showing his protective fatherly instincts.
Looking Forward to Border 2
Despite the challenges, Suniel expressed happiness that Ahan landed Border 2 as his second film. He called it the best possible opportunity for his son at this stage of his career.
"I am happy that he got Border 2 as his second film," Suniel said. "He couldn't have gotten a better film than that. And I just pray that he has done justice and the film works for all of us."
Suniel also shared his own connection to the Border franchise, expressing regret that his character in the original film didn't survive to appear in the sequel.
A Father's Perspective
Throughout his emotional revelation, Suniel maintained a father's perspective on his son's journey. He acknowledged the pressures of being a star kid while emphasizing Ahan's individual struggles and resilience.
The audio launch event became a platform for Suniel to not only promote his son's upcoming film but also to share genuine insights about the realities of navigating Bollywood as a newcomer, even with a famous surname.
