Suniel Shetty Gets Emotional About Son Ahaan's Career Struggle
Suniel Shetty turned visibly emotional while speaking about his son Ahaan Shetty's difficult phase. The veteran actor shared these feelings during the song launch event for Border 2. He offered a candid father's perspective on how uncertainty affects star children in Bollywood.
The Emotional Toll of Waiting
Suniel described the anxiety that followed Ahaan's debut film Tadap. The movie failed to make an impact at the box office. This created what Suniel called "a little break" in his son's career.
"You know, there's always a turmoil in our lives," Suniel said. He hinted at the emotional challenges his son faced during this period.
Addressing Nepotism Assumptions
The actor directly addressed common assumptions about nepotism in Bollywood. He emphasized that having a famous father does not guarantee smooth sailing.
"Everyone thinks, yes, Suniel Shetty's son would have got a lot of work," he noted. "But somewhere or the other, there's a lot that Ahaan went through in life."
Suniel stressed that disappointment and professional silence are part of every actor's journey. This includes those from film families.
A Father's Prayer for Border 2
Suniel expressed deep gratitude that Ahaan landed the role in Border 2. He called this opportunity perfectly timed for his son's career.
"I am so happy that he got a film like Border 2," Suniel shared. "It couldn't have been a better film. I just pray that he has done justice and the film works for all of us."
Fatherly Advice During Tough Times
Reflecting on the values he tried to instill in his son, Suniel revealed his consistent advice. He emphasized sincerity over quick success.
"The only thing I said was, whatever you do, do it with your heart," Suniel explained. This guidance came during Ahaan's challenging professional phase.
Gratitude for Support System
Suniel spoke emotionally about the support his family received. He specifically mentioned Border 2 producer Nidhi Dutta.
"That's why I have always been indebted," Suniel stated. "I use the word 'indebted.' I am not saying a thank you. Nidhi is like my little daughter."
He added from a father's perspective, "For Nidhi to take Ahaan in such a big film is a big thing. So, from a father's point of view, I am indebted."
Thanks to Director JP Dutta
The actor also thanked director JP Dutta for believing in his son. "I would like to thank JP, who gave me the opportunity," Suniel said. "And today, Ahaan is here because of that. Thank you all."
Career Context
Ahaan Shetty made his acting debut with Tadap in 2021. The film underperformed commercially. He will next appear in Border 2 alongside Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.
The film is scheduled for release on January 23. This project represents a significant opportunity for Ahaan's career revival.
