Chidambaram's latest thriller 'Balan: The Boy' witnessed a significant jump in box office collections on its first Saturday, with net earnings of Rs 2.35 crore in India. According to Sacnilk, this represents a 29.1 percent increase from the opening day's collection of Rs 1.82 crore. The film was screened across 1,208 shows on Day 2.

India Net Collection Crosses Rs 4 Crore Mark

After two days in theatres, 'Balan: The Boy' has accumulated a net collection of Rs 4.17 crore in India. The gross collection stands at Rs 4.83 crore. Audience turnout improved significantly on Day 2, with an overall occupancy of 38.3 percent, up from 28.7 percent on the opening day.

The Malayalam version posted an overall occupancy of 42.83 percent. Morning shows registered 22.50 percent occupancy, afternoon shows improved to 35.50 percent, evening shows recorded 43.42 percent, and the strongest response came during night shows, which reached an impressive 65.92 percent occupancy.

Kerala Continues to Lead the Box Office Run

Kerala remained the film's biggest contributor on Day 2, generating Rs 2.10 crore gross and accounting for the majority of the day's collections. Karnataka added Rs 30 lakhs gross, Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 18 lakhs, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana brought in Rs 5 lakhs, and the rest of India added another Rs 10 lakhs. Together, these markets helped the film collect Rs 2.73 crore gross on Saturday.

Naga Chaitanya Shares His Reaction After Screening

'Balan: The Boy' has also benefited from positive remarks by actor Naga Chaitanya. The actor recently watched the film at a special screening and later interacted with the team. During the interaction, he spoke about the impact the thriller had on him. "After watching the film, it still stays with me. Even when I’m talking about it, I’m getting goosebumps. It’s full of surprises. Firstly, I thought it’s a mother and son film, a family film. But, oh God. I saw 10-15 minutes and after that I never expected that the film would steer away like this. The film is full of surprises," Chaitanya said.
