Ranveer Singh's gangster epic Dhurandhar has stormed into its third week at the box office with formidable strength, cementing its position as the actor's most commercially successful venture to date. On its fifteenth day in theatres, the Aditya Dhar-directed film has pushed its net domestic collection to an impressive Rs 483 crore, as per early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk.
Sustained Momentum and Record-Breaking Run
The film collected approximately Rs 22.5 crore on its third Friday, demonstrating remarkable holding power. This steady performance indicates that Dhurandhar is on track to comfortably enter the elite Rs 500 crore club in India by the end of its sixteenth day. The film's global appeal remains undiminished, with its worldwide gross currently standing at a staggering Rs 710.5 crore.
Audience engagement has been consistently high. The overall occupancy on Day 15 was 35.95%, with a clear upward trend as the day progressed. Morning shows began at 16.68%, nearly doubling to 33.96% in the afternoon. The evening saw a jump to 42.86% occupancy, culminating in a robust 50.28% occupancy during night shows. The Delhi-NCR region led with 1,203 screenings and 36.25% occupancy, while Mumbai followed closely with 927 shows and a 36% occupancy rate.
Career High for Ranveer and Fierce Competition
This box office triumph marks a significant career milestone for Ranveer Singh, providing a powerful commercial rebound after a series of modest performances. Dhurandhar is now the highest-grossing film of his career. Nationally, it is the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year, trailing behind Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava. However, given its sustained collections, especially from overseas markets, industry analysts predict Dhurandhar will eventually surpass Chhaava's lifetime worldwide total of Rs 807.91 crore.
The film has already shattered several major records. It has overtaken the global collections of Rajinikanth's 2.0 (Rs 691 crore) and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 (Rs 686 crore). However, it still trails Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (Rs 553.87 crore domestically) and last year's top Hindi grosser, Stree 2 (Rs 597.99 crore in India). The gap is expected to narrow as Dhurandhar enjoys a relatively clear run until the Christmas release of Kartik Aaryan's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
Avatar: Fire and Ash Poses New Challenge
The immediate and significant competition arrives in the form of James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash. The Hollywood spectacle received a wide pan-India release in premium formats like IMAX 3D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema, and in multiple Indian languages. It opened strongly with an estimated Rs 20 crore on its first day in India. The coming weekend will be a crucial test of Dhurandhar's staying power as it contends with this global juggernaut in its third week.
Set in Pakistan, Dhurandhar is planned as a two-part franchise. The first part, featuring an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, has laid a solid foundation. The second installment is already scheduled for an Eid 2026 release. The film's performance in the days ahead will determine just how high this gangster saga can ultimately climb in the annals of Bollywood box office history.
