The Disturbing Discovery
According to the actress, she recently uncovered an Instagram profile that was systematically sharing extremely inappropriate and false content targeting both her and her family members. The individual behind this activity took the additional step of tagging Parameswaran's friends and colleagues from the film industry, amplifying the harassment's reach and impact.
"The posts included morphed pictures and baseless allegations—it was deeply distressing to witness such targeted harassment online," Parameswaran expressed in her social media statement. Further investigation revealed this wasn't an isolated incident, as the same person had created multiple fake accounts to spread similar false claims against the actress.
Legal Action and Identification
Parameswaran promptly approached the Cyber Crime Police in Kerala, who responded with what she described as "prompt and efficient" action. Their investigation successfully identified the perpetrator as a 20-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu.
Despite the distress caused, the actress demonstrated remarkable compassion by choosing not to publicly disclose the identity of the young accused. "Considering her young age, I have chosen not to disclose her identity, as I do not wish to compromise her future or peace of mind," Parameswaran stated, showing concern for the individual's future prospects.
