A tragic incident has come to light in Mumbai's Malwani area, where a beautician was murdered and her body was locked inside her residence. The police discovered the body a few days after the murder, and the victim's husband, who is currently missing, has been identified as the prime suspect.
Victim and Suspect
The deceased, Selema Khatun, originally from the 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, worked at a beauty parlour in Mumbai. She resided in Malwani with her husband, Shamsuddin. According to police reports, the couple frequently engaged in heated arguments. They had even separated for a brief period before reconciling, but the fights soon resumed.
Murder and Discovery
It is believed that Selema was murdered at her home sometime during the past week. The house was found locked from the outside, which raised suspicion among the neighbours. They alerted the police, who broke open the door and discovered the body. Following the discovery, the body was sent for an autopsy. Forensic experts determined that Selema had been stabbed in the neck with a sharp weapon.
Police Investigation
The police suspect that Shamsuddin murdered his wife, locked the house from the outside, and then fled. A case of murder has been registered at the Malwani police station under the relevant provisions of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita. Multiple police teams have been formed and have fanned out across the country to apprehend the accused.
