A 30-year-old woman doctor in Bijnor district has filed a complaint against a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary, alleging that he drugged her, recorded obscene videos and photographs, and subsequently blackmailed and sexually exploited her over an extended period. The accused has denied all allegations, asserting that he neither recorded any videos nor engaged in blackmail.
Details of the Allegations
According to the complaint, the accused first contacted the doctor approximately ten months ago, following the death of her husband. He gradually began visiting her clinic frequently. The woman claimed that during one such visit, he mixed an intoxicating substance into her food, causing her to lose consciousness. While she was unconscious, she alleged, the accused recorded objectionable videos and photographs. He later used these materials to threaten and harass her.
The doctor further alleged that the accused repeatedly demanded money and exploited her emotionally and physically over a prolonged period by threatening to circulate the purported videos and photographs. She eventually informed her family members and approached the police, seeking legal action and security protection.
Victim's Plea for Security
“I fear for my life; therefore, I request that security be provided to me so that I can take care of and raise my children,” the woman said in her complaint.
Police have registered a case under sections 123, 308(2), 351(3), and 75(2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and have initiated an investigation. Bijnor Superintendent of Police Abhishek Jha confirmed that statements are being recorded and evidence is being examined.
BJP's Response
Sources indicate that the BJP has constituted a three-member committee to probe the allegations. The party has also expelled the accused from its membership pending the outcome of the investigation.
