Chaitali Kohli has fondly remembered her senior and talented co-star Ramakant Dayama, who passed away yesterday. Dayama, known for his memorable performances in films and series such as Chak De! India, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, Paa, Ram Setu, and Farzi, was remembered not only for his acting prowess but also for his warmth and generosity.
A Brilliant Actor with Boundless Energy
In her tribute, Kohli described Dayama as a brilliant actor with tremendous presence of mind. “He was a brilliant actor with a tremendous presence of mind. There were no filters with him, and he was always high on energy,” she said. Kohli recalled that Dayama was not only fun to work with but also consistently helped his co-stars perform better. “He was a very loving person,” she added.
Support Beyond the Set
One memory that stayed with Kohli was Dayama’s unwavering support for her theatre work. “He even came to watch my Marathi play. He gave us so much love and encouragement. That gesture meant a lot to me,” she shared. This act of kindness highlighted his generous spirit and dedication to his fellow artists.
Life Lessons from a Positive Soul
Reflecting on the lessons she learned from Dayama, Kohli emphasized his philosophy of authenticity and positivity. “The most valuable thing I learned from him was to just be yourself, stay positive, and enjoy your life,” she said. This outlook, she noted, was a constant in their interactions.
A Legacy of Positivity
Concluding her heartfelt remembrance, Kohli said, “I would always remember him as an actor who constantly contributed positivity to everyone’s life.” Dayama’s legacy, she believes, will continue to inspire those who knew him and admired his work.
