Coco Gauff had a sweet reaction after seeing her childhood friend Jamilah enjoying a sunny day out in Florida. The American tennis star, currently competing at the 2026 Italian Open in Rome, quickly grabbed attention by leaving a short but warm comment under Jamilah's latest Instagram post. While Gauff continues fighting through tough matches on the court, her off-court friendship with Jamilah once again gave fans a glimpse into the close bond they have shared since childhood.
Jamilah's Florida Post and Gauff's Reaction
On Friday, May 8, Jamilah posted a video on Instagram from Orlando, Florida. In the clip, she was seen smiling, relaxing in nature, and enjoying the springs while wearing a bikini. She captioned the post, "Florida girl ✨??? #orlando #springs #summer #fyp #nature." Soon after, Coco Gauff entered the comments section and reacted with a simple but telling message, writing, "Stunning ?."
The moment quickly caught fans' attention because Gauff and Jamilah have known each other for years. Their friendship started when they were kids training together at a junior tennis academy in Florida. Even though Gauff's tennis schedule keeps her traveling around the world for most of the year, the two still stay close. They regularly support each other online and often interact on social media whenever one of them shares personal moments or updates.
Coco Gauff Battles Through Dramatic Italian Open Win
While Coco Gauff was enjoying a lighthearted moment off the court, things became far more intense during her latest match at the Italian Open in Rome. The World No. 4 entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed and received a first-round bye before comfortably beating Tereza Valentova in her opening match.
However, her third-round clash against Argentina's Solana Sierra turned into a real test. Sierra surprised many people after taking the opening set 7-5 against the American. During the set, Gauff showed visible frustration on court after losing serve. Cameras caught her slapping herself and hitting her head lightly with her racket during the difficult stretch.
Still, the former US Open champion did not let the rough start end her tournament. She completely changed the match in the second set and dominated Sierra 6-0. The deciding set looked dangerous again when Sierra raced to a 3-0 lead, but Gauff slowly found her rhythm. She fought back strongly and won six of the final seven games to complete another comeback victory in Rome.
The American star will now face the winner of the match between Iva Jovic and Taylor Townsend in the fourth round. Gauff also has strong memories at the Italian Open after reaching the final last year before losing to Italy's Jasmine Paolini in straight sets.
