Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary Celebrate Jamai Sasthi with Family
Actress Debina Bonnerjee and her husband Gurmeet Choudhary, known for sharing personal moments with fans, recently offered a glimpse of their Jamai Sasthi celebration on social media. The actress took to her account on Saturday to post photos from the event, showing the family enjoying a traditional meal together.
In the pictures, Debina, Gurmeet, and their two daughters, Lianna and Divisha, are seen seated on the floor, dressed in traditional red and white attire, creating an adorable family scene. The couple's daughters were born on 3 April 2022 and 11 November 2022, respectively.
Traditional Bengali Ritual
Jamai Sasthi is a traditional Bengali ritual observed on the sixth tithi of the Shukla paksha of the Joishtho month. During this festival, married women invite their husbands to their parents' home for a feast. Debina captioned the post: "Jamai Shosthi at its peak, every single year... From Ma’s lovingly prepared feast for her Jamai to watching our babies understand this tradition, dress up with excitement, and enjoy every bit of it as much as we do.. these are the moments that stay with you.."

Gurmeet's Love for Bengali Culture
The couple recently appeared on the show Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar, hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal. During the show, Gurmeet revealed his long-standing admiration for Bengali women. He said, "Mujhe humesha lagta tha Bengali ladkiyan bohot khoobsurat aur talented hoti hai. Bengal mai maine pehli baar dekha padhai ke saath sports aur dusri cheezo ko bhi importance diya jata hai. To mujhe laga ladki agar ghar mai aayegi to Bengali aayegi." (I always believed that Bengali girls are very beautiful and talented. In Bengal, I saw for the first time that, along with studies, sports and other things are also given importance. So I thought if a girl came into my house, she would be a Bengali.)
Love Story and Marriage
Debina and Gurmeet met on the sets of the TV show Ramayan, where they played Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. They fell in love and got married in a temple on 15 February 2011. Initially keeping their marriage a secret, they tied the knot again on 4 October 2021. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Lianna, on 3 April 2022, and their second daughter, Divisha, on 11 November 2022.
