Speaking to Humans of Bombay, Divya reflected on what makes Shah Rukh Khan special beyond his stardom. 'My reading of Shah Rukh is that he has seen loads of ups and downs in his life. Divya Dutta Recalls SRK's Sweet Gesture Towards Her Mom
Divya then recalled a warm, unscripted moment from a flight after an award show. Present were Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Divya, and her mother. While playing dumb charades, Shah Rukh noticed her mother watching 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and quietly interacted with her.
'Shah Rukh is a very sensitive person. He knows what those around him need. I remember traveling from the IIFA awards, and we were playing dumb charades. There were Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, and me, with the rest being men. My mother was watching 'Gangs of Wasseypur', and Shah Rukh placed his hand on the screen and moved it thrice to enact something. I thought if it were me, I would have been scolded, but my mother did not react, and she was so happy that Shah Rukh acknowledged her,' Divya recalled.
The story didn't end there. After landing, amid a massive crowd and heavy security, Shah Rukh ensured everyone was safe before leaving. 'There were people and security… There was a huge crowd cheering: 'Shah Rukh!' He waited for all of us to leave in our respective cars. How can you forget things like that? That's Shah Rukh. It is a wow factor,' she added.
