Teaser Response Overwhelming
The teaser of Awarapan 2, released earlier this week, garnered over 10 million views within 24 hours across platforms. Sequel Details and Release
Directed by Mohit Suri, who also helmed the original, Awarapan 2 is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2026. The film promises to pick up years after the events of the first movie, exploring Shivam’s life after his redemption arc. “We have kept the essence of the original but added a new layer of complexity. Emraan has brought a depth to Shivam that will surprise everyone,” Suri stated in a press release.
The sequel also introduces a fresh cast, including new female lead Tara Sharma, played by debutante Ananya Khanna. The music, composed by the duo Vishal-Shekhar, is already trending with the first single crossing 5 million streams.

On Twitter, hashtags #Awarapan2 and #ShivamIsBack trended for hours. One fan wrote, “Emraan Hashmi as Shivam is legendary. Can’t wait for December!” Another user commented, “The teaser gave me chills.
