A 16-year-old girl, the daughter of an IPS officer, died by suicide at her residence in the Char Imli area of Bhopal on Tuesday afternoon. No suicide note was recovered from the scene, leaving the motive behind her extreme step unclear.
Details of the Incident
According to Habibganj Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjeev Chouksey, the victim was a Class 12 student. Her father, an IPS officer, is currently posted at the Police Headquarters (PHQ), while her mother is also employed. On Tuesday afternoon, the girl was alone at home, as her parents had left for work. Domestic helps were present in the house at the time.
Discovery of the Body
Around 3 PM, when the officer returned home, a domestic help informed him that the girl was in her room. After repeated knocks went unanswered, the officer forced the door open and found her body. The Habibganj police were immediately alerted and arrived at the scene. The body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination.
The police have initiated an investigation but have not yet determined the cause of the suicide. No foul play is suspected at this stage.
