The divorce saga of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has dominated headlines for years, encompassing asset division and abuse allegations. Now, an old report reveals that Pitt's ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, had her own take on the couple's separation.
Jennifer Aniston's 'Karma' Comment
According to a 2016 report from US Weekly, the 'Just Go With It' star referenced 'karma' when discussing the official split of Pitt and Jolie. Just a day after the couple announced their mutual decision to part ways, Aniston was candid about her views. The report quoted her as saying, 'Yeah, that's karma for you!' It further noted that the actress 'admittedly feels sort of satisfied about Brad and Angelina's split' at that time. The 'karma' remark was a nod to the events surrounding her own divorce from Pitt nearly 11 years earlier.
The report added that Aniston 'didn't feel that Angelina was truly the one who Brad was meant to stay with. She always felt that Angelina was too complex for him. He's a pretty simple guy.' Despite her satisfaction, the report emphasized that Aniston held no hard feelings toward either Pitt or Jolie and wished them both happiness.
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's Marriage
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston met in 1998 and married in a lavish Hollywood ceremony in 2000. They shared a home and seemed happy until Pitt starred in 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' with Angelina Jolie, sparking rumors of a love triangle. The couple officially separated in 2005 and filed for divorce.
In a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair, Aniston reflected on the media frenzy surrounding their marriage and the love triangle. She said, 'It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn't have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It's a shame that it had to happen, but it happened, and boy did I take it personally.'
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Relationship
Pitt and Jolie fell in love while filming 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' but only began their relationship after Pitt's divorce was finalized. In July 2005, Jolie posed with Pitt for a W magazine spread, portraying them as a happy couple. After two pregnancies and adopting three children, they married in 2014. However, the union was short-lived; they announced their separation in 2016 and were declared legally single in 2019. In 2024, the pair finally reached a settlement in their divorce cases.
