In a shocking incident in Krishnagiri, the taluk police cracked a double murder case by arresting a 32-year-old woman and her paramour on Tuesday. The charred bodies of Mahesh Kumar, a 36-year-old soldier from Palakuri, and his father Chellappan, a 60-year-old former soldier, were discovered on Monday near Poovathi on the Krishnagiri-Rayakottai road.

Investigation Reveals Extra-Marital Affair

Police investigation revealed that Mahesh Kumar's wife, Bhanupriya, was in an extra-marital relationship with Poovarasan, a 35-year-old resident of Palakuri. Despite repeated warnings from her husband, Bhanupriya continued the affair, leading to frequent arguments between the couple.

The Murder and Attempt to Destroy Evidence

On Sunday evening, the couple had a heated argument over the affair. After learning about the fight, Poovarasan went to their house around midnight and brutally hacked Mahesh Kumar and Chellappan to death. He then transported the bodies to a nearby area, doused them with flammable material, and set them on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.

Arrests Made

The taluk police registered a case and swiftly arrested both Bhanupriya and Poovarasan. They are currently in custody and further investigations are underway to uncover all details of the crime.
