Man kills 3 daughters, dies by suicide in Prakasam

In a tragic incident, a 34-year-old man allegedly killed his three daughters and then died by suicide at Konduru Vari (KV) Agraharam village in Chimakurthy mandal of Prakasam district on Friday. The victims were identified as Goachuytha (12), Poojitha (9), and Lohitha (8), along with their father Sudhakar, according to police.

Sequence of Events

Early Friday morning, Sudhakar reportedly told his mother not to wake the children, claiming he would return after having breakfast. After a long wait, the children's grandmother attempted to wake them around 6am for school but found them unconscious inside the house. Meanwhile, Sudhakar was discovered dead on the outskirts of the village, the Chimakurthy police said.

Police Investigation

Chimakurthy police inspector Dasari Prasad stated that two FIRs have been registered: one regarding the suspicious deaths of the three girls and another for Sudhakar's suicide. Since there were no signs of poisoning or strangulation marks on the girls' bodies, a case of suspicious death has been filed. The sections may be amended after the postmortem report is received, Prasad added.

Background and Motive

The CI revealed that Sudhakar worked as a driver at a local quarry and lived with his three daughters and mother after his wife separated from him three years ago due to domestic disputes. Although the exact motive behind the deaths is yet to be ascertained, police suspect that family disputes between Sudhakar and his wife may have driven him to kill his daughters before taking his own life.
