Mohit Jaswani Transitions from Negative to Positive Role in New Show Sairaab
Mohit Jaswani on Playing Positive Role in Sairaab

Actor Mohit Jaswani, who gained recognition for his portrayal of the dark and calculated Arjun Suri in the television series Naagin 7, is now set to showcase a different side of his acting prowess. He has confirmed his entry into the upcoming romantic drama Sairaab, starring Rohit Chandel and Madirakshi Mundle in lead roles.

Role in Sairaab

According to sources, Mohit will play Madirakshi Mundle's on-screen stepson in the show. Sairaab is the Hindi remake of the popular Kannada series Manasella Neene. The show is slated to premiere on June 2.

Refreshing Change from Negative Roles

Speaking about his new project, Mohit expressed that moving away from negative roles has been refreshing. He stated, "After playing a negative role in Naagin 7, stepping into something completely different feels like a breath of fresh air. I've always believed every character teaches you something, even the darker ones, but honestly, I missed playing someone good—someone the audience can root for and see themselves in."

He added, "That's why I'm genuinely excited for my upcoming show Sairaab. This time, I get to portray a positive role, someone layered but rooted in hope, kindness, and strength. It's a new challenge, a new energy, and I can't wait for my audience to see this side of me on screen."

Career Journey and Avoiding Typecasting

Mohit began his television journey with Kumkum Bhagya and has since appeared in shows like Bhagwan Jhulelal Sai. He credits his role in Naagin 7 for allowing him to explore a grey, psychological character but is glad he is not being typecast. He explained, "I'm happy for not being typecast as an actor. It means I still get to be unpredictable, even to myself. Too many people get reduced to one note they hit once and liked it enough to play forever. The box is comfortable, I get it. It comes with expectations, with a script people already know how to read. But comfort is also where growth goes to sleep."

He further elaborated, "I'd rather be misread a hundred times than be understood instantly and never again. Not fitting neatly into a category keeps the door open for the parts of me that haven't shown up yet. It keeps the work messy, honest, and mine. So let the roles stay unassigned. Let people be surprised. I'm not here to be a type. I'm here to be a range, and ranges don't fit on casting sheets."
