The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has issued a comprehensive advisory ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, which is scheduled to be celebrated on Thursday morning. Prayers will be held at the Idgah and select mosques across the city of Bhopal.
Key Directives for Worshippers
The Board has strongly urged worshippers not to offer prayers on public roads to avoid traffic disruptions and maintain public order. It has directed that animal sacrifices over the three festival days be carried out only at designated sites, strictly prohibiting the slaughter of banned animals as per legal norms.
Social Media and Hygiene Guidelines
The advisory further asked the community to avoid circulating videos or audio recordings of sacrifices on social media platforms. It mandated that sacrifice sites be enclosed with walls or tin sheds to contain the activities. Additionally, disinfectants and medicines must be used to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases.
Compliance and Awareness
Waqf Mutawallis and mosque committees have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these guidelines and to raise public awareness about the importance of adhering to them. The Board emphasized that any violation could lead to legal action.
Bhopal Municipal Corporation Arrangements
Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up 43 temporary sacrifice sites across the city for Eid-ul-Adha, as announced by All India Muslim Festivals Committee president Ahmed Shahmeeri Khurram. Sacrifices will be carried out at these sites between May 28 and May 30. Officials have confirmed that arrangements for cleanliness, sanitation, waste disposal, and security have been put in place to ensure a smooth and safe festival.
Eid Prayer Schedule
Eid prayers will begin at the Idgah at 6:30 AM on Thursday. The second Namaz congregation is scheduled at Taj-ul-Masajid at 6:45 AM, followed by Jama Masjid at 7:00 AM, Moti Masjid at 7:15 AM, and Masjid Rabbani in the Press Complex at 9:00 AM. Prayers will also be held at Masjid Munawwar in Rajiv Colony, Karond, at 7:00 AM.
The Board and BMC have urged all citizens to cooperate with the authorities and celebrate the festival responsibly.
