Social media personality Orhan Awatramani, widely known as Orry, has once again spoken candidly about his rise to fame and the curiosity surrounding his public image. From partying with Bollywood celebrities to becoming a viral internet figure with millions of followers, Orry says people constantly predicted his popularity would disappear quickly, something he now laughs about.
Over the last few years, Orry has become one of the most talked-about social media personalities in celebrity circles. Whether through viral Instagram posts, appearances on chat shows, or cameos in projects like ‘Call Me Bae’ and ‘Nadaaniyaan’, he has continued to remain in the spotlight.
Orry on Critics Predicting His Decline
Addressing people who believed his fame would be short-lived, Orry shared with Hindustan Times, “I was initially privately famous and I chose to become publicly famous. Everyone was like, ‘His 15 minutes will end’. It's been three years and my 15 minutes is still going, your watch is broken.”
The influencer further explained that once fame arrives, relevance follows naturally. “Once you become famous, you can't become unfamous, you become relevant. So, I was pushing, and the day I got famous, then you have to keep the fame up,” he added.
Orry Opens Up About Joining ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’
Orry is now gearing up to participate in the upcoming season of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, a move that has surprised many fans. According to him, he had rejected several reality show offers in the past because he was not interested in “captive reality” formats. “I've been offered every reality show. I keep getting offers, left, right and centre. I don't like the concept of captive reality, so I usually decline it,” he shared.
While refusing to name the shows he turned down, Orry hinted that most major reality formats had approached him at some point. However, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ interested him because it offered something different and physically demanding. “Honestly, I just wanted to feel something new,” he said.
Speaking about the stunt-based reality show, Orry described the experience as both mentally and physically challenging. “I think my life has always been mentally and physically challenging and rather than anything else, this will be a test of what I've been through and what I'm capable of,” he explained. The new season of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ is expected to be filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, later this month.
Orry Talks About Rohit Shetty and Acting Rumours
When asked about host Rohit Shetty, Orry joked that he currently does not even have a photograph with the filmmaker but expects that to change soon. He also dismissed rumours suggesting that he would appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Love And War’.
Clarifying why acting does not appeal to him, Orry said, “I love my reality and I don't want to put my feet into the shoes of some character and pretend to be someone else; that's not my thing.” He further admitted that he dislikes film sets altogether. “Also, I don't like film sets, there are a lot of wires on the set, it's a lot. I just hate so many wires and don't want to be on the sets,” he added.
