Actor-director-producer Pallavi Chatterjee has opened up about her fashion philosophy, emphasizing that comfort and individuality are paramount. In a recent discussion, she stated, “Fashion means comfort over everything else. Looking good is important, but following trends is not necessary. I have always preferred to do things differently.”
Pallavi’s Personal Style
Describing her approach to dressing, Pallavi said, “My style is elegant, appropriate for the occasion, stylish yet classy, casual, and trendy. I never lean towards vulgarity. Comfort and elegance are my primary focuses in fashion.” As a qualified fashion designer, she added, “I have always adhered to one rule: don’t imitate others. Be distinctive. I love wearing sarees and believe an Indian woman looks her best in one. My mantra is: ‘Don’t look cheap, look attractive.’ I always wear a saree at public events.”
Style Icons from Bollywood
When asked about her inspirations from Hindi cinema, Pallavi named Sharmila Tagore, Rakhee, Rekha, Hema Malini, Sridevi, Jaya Prada, and Reena Roy. She noted, “I was greatly influenced by how Rekha ji used to dress and carry herself.”
Upcoming Projects
Pallavi will next appear in Nikhil Advani’s The Revolutionaries, the Hindi feature film Shawlwala, and several other projects currently in production.
