Paramvir Singh Cheema on Rejecting Pinda Role in Dhurandhar 2

In an exclusive interview with India TV, actor Paramvir Singh Cheema revealed the reasons behind his decision to turn down the role of Pinda in Aditya Dhar's much-anticipated film Dhurandhar Part 2. The film, which is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Dhurandhar, had been generating significant buzz, with fans eagerly awaiting casting announcements.

Why Paramvir Said No

Paramvir Singh Cheema, known for his powerful performances in Punjabi cinema and his recent Bollywood debut, explained that the role of Pinda did not align with his artistic vision at this point in his career. "I have immense respect for Aditya Dhar and his work, but after reading the script, I felt that the character of Pinda required a certain depth and screen time that I could not commit to given my current schedule," Cheema stated. He added that he had prior commitments to other projects, including a lead role in an upcoming web series and a feature film produced by a major studio.

Creative Differences and Future Plans

The actor also hinted at creative differences regarding the portrayal of the character. "The director and I had different visions for Pinda. I believe in giving my 100% to every role, and if I cannot do that, it's better to step aside," he said. Cheema emphasized that his decision was mutual and that he remains on good terms with the Dhurandhar team. He is currently focusing on diverse roles that challenge him as an actor, including a biographical drama and a thriller set in the heartland of India.

We are now in talks with another actor who fits the role perfectly." The film Dhurandhar Part 2 is slated for release in 2026 and promises to be bigger in scale and action.

Fan Reactions

Fans of the franchise have expressed mixed reactions on social media. While some are disappointed that Cheema will not be part of the film, others are excited to see who will replace him. The makers are expected to make an official announcement soon.
