Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has openly admitted feeling 'jealous' of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's rapid political rise from cinema to power. Speaking at a public event, Kalyan reflected on his own 15-year struggle in politics and the difficulties of building a party from scratch.
Contrasting Political Journeys
Kalyan contrasted his long and arduous path with Vijay's smooth success through his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), which won 108 seats in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. 'I have been in politics for 15 years, facing numerous challenges, while Vijay achieved in a short time what took me years,' Kalyan said.
Challenges in Leadership and Unity
He highlighted the challenges in leadership and party unity, noting that building a political organization requires patience and perseverance. 'It is not easy to maintain unity and direction in a party. I have faced many hurdles,' he added.
Despite the jealousy, Kalyan acknowledged his own gradual but steady political progress with Jana Sena. He emphasized that every politician's journey is unique and that comparisons are inevitable but should not discourage one's efforts.
Kalyan's comments come amid growing recognition of Vijay's political acumen, as the actor-turned-politician has successfully transitioned from cinema to become a key figure in Tamil Nadu politics. Meanwhile, Kalyan continues to strengthen his position in Andhra Pradesh as Deputy Chief Minister.
