Rajeev Khandelwal Returns to TV After 8 Years as Host of New Show
Rajeev Khandelwal Back on TV After 8 Years as Host

After an eight-year hiatus, actor Rajeev Khandelwal is making a return to television as the host of the new show Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar. Reflecting on his comeback, Khandelwal shared, 'I did not even realise that I am coming back to television after so long. I am someone who just gets excited by projects. For me, everything is a project; the medium comes a little later. When this show was offered to me, it was the show that excited me — the idea excited me, not the medium.'

Why He Stayed Away from Television

Khandelwal, who gained widespread fame with the show Kahiin To Hoga in 2003, clarified that his long absence from television was not a conscious decision but rather a result of a lack of compelling offers. 'I was not getting anything exciting enough for me to take up on television. They would only come with daily soaps, and I was not prepared to do that,' he explained.

A Show for His Audience

When Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar was offered to him, Khandelwal decided to accept it as a gesture of gratitude toward his fans. 'There are people who have been waiting to see me on television. This show is my way of thanking them for being so patient,' he said. A significant reason for taking up the show is its focus on women, a demographic that has consistently supported him. 'The larger section that has given me overwhelming love over the years is women,' he noted.

Personal Reflections on Women in His Life

Reflecting on his own life, the actor credited the women closest to him for shaping who he is. 'The first two names that come to mind are my mother and my wife. My mom pushed me — she brought out my creative side. My wife gives me a reality check every morning. Initially, she questioned my way of working, but she eventually accepted it. She has always given me strength. My modus operandi is not to change according to trends,' he shared.
