Rakhi Sawant has come out in strong support of actor Ranveer Singh amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the film Don 3. The actress, known for her outspoken nature, criticized the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, accusing them of targeting Ranveer due to jealousy and using his name for publicity.
Rakhi Sawant Questions the Targeting of Ranveer Singh
Speaking to the paparazzi in Mumbai on Tuesday evening, Rakhi expressed her anger over the non-cooperation directive reportedly issued by FWICE against Ranveer Singh following his alleged exit from Don 3. She vehemently defended the actor, stating that his success is the reason behind the backlash.
"I condemn this. Those who have banned Ranveer... I am very angry. Because he is a superstar, everyone is jealous of Ranveer. If you have the power, then try banning Salman Khan, my brother. He will finish each one of you. Ranveer has come up through his hard work, both Deepika Padukone and Ranveer have achieved everything through their efforts," she said in a mix of Hindi and English.
Rakhi Accuses Farhan Akhtar of Using Ranveer's Name for Publicity
Rakhi did not spare Farhan Akhtar, the producer of Don 3, alleging that he is benefiting from the controversy surrounding Ranveer. She challenged FWICE to take on bigger stars like Salman Khan if they truly have the courage.
"Let them try banning Salman Khan, he will teach them a lesson. FWICE, you people are jealous of our Ranveer because he has delivered consecutive superhit films. If you have the guts, then touch Salman and see, he will thrash you. Farhan Akhtar has not been as successful in his films; he has not shown up anywhere. Now he is extracting publicity from Ranveer's name, and he has become visible," she added.
Don 3 Remains at the Center of Industry Controversy
The Don franchise is one of Bollywood's most beloved action-thriller series. After Shah Rukh Khan played the iconic role in the first two installments, Ranveer Singh was announced as the new face of Don 3. However, the project has recently been embroiled in controversy, with reports of disagreements between the actor and the makers regarding the film's future.
The situation escalated when FWICE allegedly issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, sparking widespread debate within the film industry. Rakhi Sawant's public defense adds another layer to the ongoing saga, highlighting the divisions and strong opinions within Bollywood.
