Actor and former powerlifter Sagar Tugnait is broadening his footprint across films and OTT platforms, with several projects currently in the pipeline as he builds on his early screen appearances.
Tugnait is currently attracting attention for his role in Glory, alongside Pulkit Samrat and Jannat Zubair. He is also set to appear in Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga 2, which is slated for release. Previously, he has been part of titles such as Citadel: Honey Bunny and Rana Naidu, marking a steady presence across streaming platforms.
Transition from Powerlifting to Acting
Reflecting on his career shift, Tugnait said, "Fitness will always remain a huge part of who I am, but I never wanted to limit myself to just one identity. Acting has given me a new purpose and a new challenge." He described the transition as "intense, humbling, and deeply fulfilling."
He added that his sporting background continues to shape his approach to acting. "Whether it's lifting weights or performing in front of the camera, both demand consistency, patience, and passion. I want to show that it's possible to evolve and reinvent yourself while staying rooted," he said.
Athletic Achievements
Before moving to acting, Tugnait competed in powerlifting and bodybuilding. He won the Junior Raw 125 kg category at the World Powerlifting Championship India in 2017 and later placed at Olympia Amateur India 2021.
His shift from competitive sport to the screen comes at a time when more athletes are exploring opportunities in mainstream entertainment, particularly on OTT platforms. Tugnait's journey underscores the growing trend of athletes leveraging their discipline and public recognition to forge careers in the entertainment industry.
