The upcoming UFC White House event has generated immense excitement among fight fans worldwide. This special card, part of the America250 celebrations, is slated to take place on the South Lawn of the White House next month. Several top UFC stars are scheduled to compete, including Ilia Topuria, Justin Gaethje, Alex Pereira, and Sean O'Malley.
Sean O’Malley Unhappy with UFC White House Fight Kit Design
While fans eagerly anticipate the event, Sean O'Malley recently drew attention for criticizing the custom-made UFC fight kits designed specifically for the White House card. During a podcast appearance with MMA Guru, the former bantamweight champion admitted he was not impressed with the shorts prepared for the event. His comments quickly went viral as fans reacted to the unusual design controversy ahead of one of UFC's biggest showcases.
O'Malley is set to face Aiemann Zahabi in a bantamweight bout at the White House event. However, instead of discussing his opponent, the American fighter spent time criticizing the special kits fighters are expected to wear. He explained that the shorts did not match his style or personality, joking that the designs looked rushed and poorly planned. The 30-year-old also pointed out that his gear was completely white, which disappointed him because fans usually associate him with colorful outfits and pink-themed gear. Even though he said color was not a major issue, he felt the overall design lacked creativity and uniqueness.
"It's funny you bring that up. I don't know if I'm even supposed to say, but since you brought it up, I feel like I can. They're ugly. Mine were ugly. I don't like them. They're not pink, which is fine. I've worn other colors. I'm not going to not show up if my shorts aren't pink. I'll make my f**king hair pink," he said. O'Malley further joked that the designers may have hired someone online at the last minute to create the kits for the White House event. He added that while he would still wear the shorts and compete, he was far from satisfied with how they looked. The UFC star also humorously mentioned that if the shorts could not be pink, he would simply dye his hair pink instead.
Donald Trump Shares Event Details
Meanwhile, Donald Trump recently shared fresh details about the event setup. Trump revealed that construction for a temporary 5,000-seat arena near the White House would begin soon. He also stated that around 100,000 fans could gather near the Ellipse area to watch the fights on large public screens during the celebrations.
