When asked about his opinion on Kapoor playing Lord Ram, Khanna said, 'I prefer not to judge based on a teaser alone. However, Ranbir Kapoor is one of the finest actors of our generation. I am confident he must have approached the role thoughtfully. I admire his dedication—he even attended my play Hamare Ram as part of his preparation. I respect him a lot and believe he will do justice to the role.'

In a previous interview with BollywoodSpy, Arun Govil, who famously played Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan', expressed his belief that Kapoor will portray the character with honesty and depth. Govil praised Kapoor's values and dedication, calling him a 'well-mannered young man.' He added, 'As far as Ranbir is concerned, I mean, he is a good actor. He works very hard. He is a very cultured kid, basically. He has a moral culture, I have seen it many times. So, I am very sure about it that he will try to do his level best.'

Cast and Release Details of 'Ramayana'

The film 'Ramayana', directed by Nitesh Tiwari, features a stellar cast including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and 'KGF' fame Yash as Raavana. The epic is being produced as a two-part series, with the first part slated for release on Diwali 2026 and the second part following on Diwali 2027.
