Taylor Swift and Travis Scott's rumored wedding at Madison Square Garden is expected to be one of the most extravagant celebrity events, with estimates suggesting the celebration may carry a staggering $20 million price tag.
Venue Costs and Planning Insights
Sonal Shah, a luxury wedding planner in Manhattan, told The Post that renting Madison Square Garden for a Saturday-night wedding would cost approximately $1 million to $2.5 million before any wedding construction begins. However, for a celebrity wedding of this scale, the venue fee would likely be just a fraction of the overall budget.
According to Bride's Magazine, Shah is one of the most renowned wedding planners in America, with two decades of experience.
Speculated Date and Privacy Concerns
Speculations intensify that the wedding might take place on July 3. As Page Six reported, the couple chose MSG because privacy was of utmost importance to them. TMZ reported that the venue has no windows from which photographers can capture the event, and the crowd could be around 1,100 to 1,200 guests. MSG also offers underground parking, allowing guests to enter and exit through safe passage.
Shah commented on the venue, stating that a weekend night at one of the most iconic venues in the world involves paying for exclusivity, staffing, security, operations, and the opportunity cost of a concert or sporting event that could have otherwise taken place. She added that once production, security, catering, entertainment, and decor are included, a Madison Square Garden wedding could realistically become a $10 million to $20 million-plus event.
Relationship Timeline
Taylor Swift's relationship status has always been a hot topic. Everything started in 2023, with Kelce reportedly attending Swift's Eras Tour show at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. In a podcast with his brother, he later revealed how he wanted to catch a glimpse of Taylor after the show, although it didn't work out.
By October 2023, the scenario changed when Taylor attended Kelce's play. She brought her tailgate group, including Blake Lively, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sophie Turner, to watch the Chiefs play the New York Jets in New Jersey.
Everything went public when the Love Story singer admitted their relationship in her Time Person of the Year cover interview. She said it all started when he very adorably put her on blast on his podcast, which she thought was metal as hell. She explained that they started hanging out right after that, and they had a significant amount of time that no one knew about, for which she was grateful as they got to know each other.
She clarified that their first date was not at a Chiefs game. By the time she went to that first game, they were already a couple. She dismissed the idea that anyone saw their first date at that game, stating they would never be psychotic enough to launch a first date that way, as reported by Vogue.
