The story of Tyreek Hill, former Miami Dolphins wide receiver, takes a bizarre turn as he sits in a Broward County courtroom facing a civil lawsuit from social media influencer and plus-size model Sophie Hall. The details are nothing short of extraordinary.
Tyreek Hill Sued for Breaking a Woman's Leg — Here's What Happened
Sophie Hall did not seek out Tyreek Hill. She simply purchased a ticket for her son to attend Hill's football camp in May 2023. That simple act led to Hill sliding into her Instagram DMs with a direct approach. He reportedly told her, "I've been known to be a good stepdad." He then arranged her flights and travel, inviting her to spend time at his Southwest Ranches mansion in Florida.
Approximately 11 days after the camp, Hall arrived at Hill's home. Things were normal until they participated in backyard football drills. On one play, Hall pushed Hill backwards, prompting laughter from his mother, sister, trainer, and friend. According to the lawsuit, Hill became enraged and embarrassed. On a subsequent play, he allegedly charged into her with crushing force, fracturing her right leg so severely that she required surgery with metal hardware implanted. She still attends weekly physical therapy. Hill's version of events claims she tripped over his dog, named Chapo.
"A Little Foreplay-ish" — Tyreek Hill's Deposition Worsens His Case
In his videotaped deposition, Hill was asked about the events leading up to Hall's injury. He made a grasping motion with his arms and admitted reaching out and touching Hall's breasts, describing it as getting underneath an opponent's shoulder pads and calling it "a little foreplay-ish." He also admitted viewing "plenty" of Hall's content before messaging her and described his attraction to tall women in detail. All of this was stated under oath on camera.
What Both Sides Are Trying to Hide from the Jury
Hall's lawyers are attempting to block any mention of her OnlyFans account, content, sexual history, and the fact that she admitted in her deposition that she and Hill had sex the night of the injury and again the next day. Her argument is that none of this is relevant to whether Hill broke her leg. Conversely, Hill's lawyers are trying to prevent Hall's side from mentioning his past controversies involving women or any suggestion of a pattern of violent behavior. Both sides are essentially asking the jury to ignore certain evidence.
Where Things Stand Right Now
The trial began this week with six jurors selected from a pool of nearly 100. Opening statements have commenced, and the trial is estimated to last two weeks. Hill, released by the Dolphins in February 2026 and currently a free agent recovering from a torn ACL, sits in court wearing a white shirt, looking serious. Hall is seeking damages between $50,000 and $75,000. This is a civil case, not criminal, so no jail time is possible. However, Hill's reputation remains at stake.
