Woman Stabs Drunk Husband to Death in Srikakulam

In a tragic incident of domestic violence, a woman fatally stabbed her husband in Srikakulam town after enduring years of harassment and physical abuse. The deceased has been identified as D Asiri Naidu (46), a native of Devadi village under Narasannapeta mandal in the district. He had been residing in the Prakash Nagar area of Srikakulam town for the past few years.

Background of the Incident

According to police, Naidu, along with his wife Jayalakshmi and two children, moved to Srikakulam town a few years ago in search of livelihood. Initially, their life was peaceful, but trouble began when Naidu developed an addiction to alcohol. He would spend all his earnings on liquor and frequently beat his wife after returning home intoxicated. Their son Manikanta, who is pursuing an ITI course, worked as a delivery boy to support the family as his father became idle.

The Fatal Night

On Friday night, Naidu came home drunk once again and picked a quarrel with his wife. As he started beating her, Jayalakshmi, in a fit of rage, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him. Naidu collapsed in a pool of blood and died before he could be taken to the hospital. Upon receiving information, the Two Town police, led by Inspector P Eswar Rao, rushed to the scene and sent the body for postmortem.
