Kanpur: State Women’s Commission member Anita Gupta presided over a public hearing at the Circuit House Auditorium on Friday, addressing various complaints and issues raised by women. A total of 15 cases were reviewed during the session, with the majority pertaining to domestic violence.
Directions for Swift Action
Anita Gupta carefully examined each case and instructed the relevant departments to take necessary action to deliver justice to the affected women. She emphasized that the government prioritizes women’s safety, dignity, and rights. “No negligence will be tolerated in matters concerning women’s harassment, domestic violence, or women’s rights,” she stated. She urged officials to ensure timely and high-quality resolution of complaints, along with providing legal aid and protection to the victims.
Objective of the Hearing
Gupta explained that the public hearing aims to directly listen to women’s problems and facilitate effective solutions. She encouraged women to come forward and register complaints regarding any form of harassment, violence, or discrimination, so they can receive timely justice and support.

The hearing was attended by ACM-2 Ritupriya, District Probation Officer Vikas Singh, Women’s Station House Officer Qamar Sultana, and officials from various departments.
Outreach Program in Singhpur
Later, the State Women’s Commission member participated in a women’s public awareness chaupal, nutrition panchayat, and health camp organized by the District Programme Officer Department in Gram Panchayat Singhpur. A large number of women attended the event, gaining valuable insights into health, nutrition, women’s safety, and women’s empowerment.
Empowerment Through Health and Education
Addressing the gathering, Anita Gupta stated that a healthy, educated, and self-reliant woman is the hallmark of an empowered society. She highlighted that both central and state governments run numerous welfare schemes for women and girls, and it is essential to ensure that every eligible woman, even those in the most remote areas, benefits from them.
She urged women to stay aware of their rights and prioritize education, health, and economic independence. She also appealed to mothers and guardians to pay special attention to children’s nutrition, health, and education, emphasizing women’s crucial role in building a malnutrition-free and healthy society.
Health Camp and Nutrition Panchayat
During the program, women received information on balanced diet, maternal and child health, anemia prevention, nutrition precautions, and various government schemes. The health department team conducted health check-ups and provided consultation services. Through the nutrition panchayat, women were motivated to adopt nutritious diets, cleanliness, and healthy lifestyles.
